Isaac Rangaswami started the Instagram page @caffs_not_cafes in 2019, as a way to draw attention to London’s oldest caffs. Since then, he’s written for publications like Vittles and the Guardian, while his account has evolved to cover all sorts of places.
In 2024, he expanded his remit once more with the launch of Wooden City, where he writes mostly about London’s pubs, shops, restaurants and public buildings. As Isaac’s interests have developed, his mission has stayed the same: to celebrate community spaces and get people going to them.
