Joseph Massie is an award-winning floral artist, educator, writer and broadcaster with more than twenty years’ experience in the floral industry. He began his career at the age of 14, working on a flower stall in his hometown of Huyton, Merseyside, before progressing through national and international floral design competitions.
Joseph’s competition success includes over 20 national and international awards, including a bronze medal at WorldSkills Calgary, five consecutive RHS Chelsea Flower Show Gold Medals, four Best in Show awards and the title of UK Florist of the Year.
Joseph’s creative practice has encompassed botanical couture, sculpture, large-scale installations, set design, teaching and demonstrating internationally, and creative consultancy, with work commissioned by museums, institutions and brands around the world.
Today, his business is primarily focused on floral education through Flower Class, his online learning platform, and the UK School of Floristry in Manchester. He is also the author of The Flower School: The Principles and Pleasures of Good Flowers, host of the Flowers After Hours podcast, and continues to undertake selected commissions, collaborations, demonstrations and creative projects.
