Laurie Marbas, MD, MBA is a double board-certified physician in family medicine and lifestyle medicine, known for her pioneering work in using food as medicine since 2012. She is the founder of The Habit Healer’s Mindset, a growing Substack publication that explores the intersection of behavior change, metabolic health, and healing habits through deeply researched and highly engaging writing.

 Dr. Marbas holds medical licenses in all 50 states and Washington, D.C., and currently leads a concierge medical practice at drmarbas.com, providing personalized care rooted in evidence-based lifestyle interventions. She is also the founder of The Metabolic Transformation Lab where she makes the science of healthy living accessible, delicious, and sustainable.

A former co-founder of Mora Medical and Plant Based TeleHealth, Dr. Marbas was also instrumental in launching the International Journal of Disease Reversal and Prevention as its first Managing Editor for the Plantrician Project. She hosts The Habit Healers Podcast, where she interviews experts and shares actionable guidance to help individuals reclaim their health through habit-based transformation.

Dr. Marbas earned both her MD and MBA from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, where she was awarded the prestigious Gold Headed Cane Award for excellence in the art of medicine. While raising three young children during medical school, she authored seven books, including the widely used Visual Mnemonics series, which simplified complex medical topics through cartoons, a tool born out of necessity and designed for real-world learners.

A U.S. Air Force veteran, she has served in the Middle East and South America. Today, Dr. Marbas continues her mission as a physician, author, speaker, and advocate for healing through habits. She is also a proud wife, mother of three grown children, and an avid runner and hiker.
